The book establishes a methodical, problem-oriented approach to patient interviewing. It contains more than 50 chapters devoted to specific organ-system complaints. In addition, listings of pertinent laboratory tests for each complaint include comments on the diagnostic significance of specific test results. Also coverd in the book are those inquiries that apply to every patient, regardless of the presenting complaint. These include occupational and environmental history, personal past medical history and family medical history.
