Book Review: Health Promotion In India
Health promotion is an organized way of going about improving the health of a population. An important aspect of health promotion is enabling people to have greater control over their health. Health promotion not only involves the prevention of disease, but it also seeks to go beyond this by creating an appreciation of the importance of health as an end in itself.
The present manual has evolved as the result of the project “Health promotion in India: Developing a leadership network” undertaken jointly by Australia International Health institute (AIHI) and voluntary Health Association of India (VHAI).
The manual talks about certain clinical conditions like Cardiovascular Disorders, Diabetes, Accidents and Trauma, Mental problem, in relation with risk factor associated and how to develop strategies for addressing these conditions.
